On the Cut respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the app uses and how. In short: the app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you.
The app uses your device's location to show your position on the map, to centre the map near you, to find your nearest facilities, and to provide turn-by-turn navigation. Your location is processed entirely on your device. It is not collected, stored on any server, transmitted to the developer, or shared with any third party.
The app stores your boat profile (name, dimensions, cruising speed), your map layer preferences, and a cached copy of waterway data, all locally on your device. This information never leaves your device and is removed if you delete the app.
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, and no advertising.
The app downloads publicly available waterway data from the Canal & River Trust open data service and from OpenStreetMap to display the canal network. These requests are subject to those providers' own privacy practices. The app does not send any personal data in these requests.
The notices feature displays the Canal & River Trust notices website within the app. When you open it, your device connects to that website directly, subject to the Canal & River Trust's own privacy policy.
The app does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Any changes to this policy will be reflected in app updates and on this page, with an updated date above.
For any questions about this policy, please contact the developer through the App Store listing.
